Google Issues Multi-Layer Stock Split
Google has completed a stock split Wednesday which will double shares for investors.
“A” shares will now trade under the new ticker GOOGL, with the new “C” shares operating under the original ticker GOOG. The new C shares will have no voting power, giving the investor no influence in decision making.
The multi-layer split will favor Google cofounders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who will have substantial power in maintaining control of the tech giant.
