Facebook CEO and co-founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has a new salary on the books. It must be in the hundreds of thousands, or tens of millions, right? Nope. Zuckerberg’s salary is a single one dollar bill.
Now don’t feel too sorry for the guy, he’s most certainly worth more than that. He currently owns 426.3 million shares of Facebook, which are worth $25.7 billion. Despite his $1 salary, just last year Zuckerberg rolled in $3.3 billion by exercising stock options, ranking him as the 22nd richest person in the world.
Zuckerberg isn’t the first major CEO to hold this salary. A long line of mega CEOs including Apple’s Steve Jobs and the Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, also held a $1 per year salary.
